Some things you should consider when choosing a birthday party venue in Sydney

Blog-sydney-birthday-venues-things-to-consider

You know the basics of organizing a birthday party celebration in Sydney – setting a budget, making a guest list, selecting party activities, and so on.

Over and above those, however, there are some things you need to consider – some features of the party venue – to make sure you get the perfect venue for your Sydney birthday party.

Based on our experience of hosting group events in Sydney, we’d say you should consider these things before choosing your venue:

What are the terms and conditions at the venue?

I know. The ‘terms and conditions’ page for any venue is a complete mood-killer.

That being said, you really should ask these questions about the venue:

  • Does it allow you to take your own food (external catering)?
  • Will you be responsible for clearing up after the event?
    • Some venues are dry hire, which means their only responsibility is providing you with the space and some facilities. Clearing up may be left to you.
  • Are there any charges over and above their event package? If so, what are they?
  • What activities could you be penalized for?

Does the venue have restrictions on alcohol?

Alcohol has a definite role to play in many adult birthday party ideas in Sydney.

Unless you and all your guests are members of the Temperance Movement, you’d want to clarify venue restrictions on alcohol before planning to have your birthday party there.

Will you have exclusive use of the venue?

Many party venues in Sydney have multiple spaces where different events can go on simultaneously.

So, will you have exclusive use of the venue? If not, what are the privacy arrangements, so that your birthday party isn’t interrupted by another event at the venue?

Are you allowed to decorate your birthday party space? To what extent?

Different venues might have different guidelines on how far you’re allowed to go in decorating your event space for your birthday party.

You need to make sure the venue’s guidelines match your birthday decor plans.

Parking space and public transport options

  • Does the venue have sufficient parking space for all of your guests?
  • Is there other parking space nearby that your guests can use?
    • Is the parking free or paid?
  • What public transport options do your guests have?

Did you find the Sydney birthday bash venue that you’d like to have your birthday party at?

How would you rank our list of the top birthday party venues in Sydney?

  • Did it give you the information you needed to select a space to celebrate your birthday in Sydney?
  • Does it have a diverse range of venues, with lots of different kinds of birthday party activities possible?

Do let us know in a comment below…and…

The Entermission Sydney team wishes you a very happy birthday!
