How to Win in an Escape Room?

Escape rooms are a form of entertainment where people in a room, possibly in a physical labyrinth, are challenged to complete a series of puzzles and riddles in a limited amount of time. Usually, escape room environments feature physical tasks and riddles that must be solved in a certain amount of time. The puzzles can be of any level of difficulty, but the more difficult they are, the more likely they are to stump you. They typically require teams to work together to solve the challenges in the room.

The more challenging the puzzle, the more likely it is to be won. You will have to work as a team to solve the puzzles. You will be given one or more clues and will have to find the solution to the puzzle. Once you solve the puzzle, you will have to escape the room. Thus, below are some of the escape room strategies.

  • Pick your puzzle strategically- Often, puzzles are designed to be hard to beat, so you will have to work together to solve the puzzles. This might mean figuring out how different types of puzzles can be combined to create a more difficult task. Thus, pick your puzzle strategically.
  • Pay close attention to the facilitators- These are the people who will guide the team. They will provide a sense of safety, pace, and order. They will guide the team through the tasks and provide help when needed. They will show you the path to the puzzle and will point you towards the puzzle. Thus, listen to the facilitators carefully before starting your escape room adventure.
  • Communicate and listen to your teammates- The more you are in the room with your teammates, the easier the puzzle is. The more you talk to them, the easier the puzzle is. The more you listen to them, the more they will remember what you want to do and the easier the puzzle is. Maintaining a level of communication and clarity is important, but you will have to rely on your teammates’ help if you are to win in an escape room.
  • Stay calm and composed- This is the most important thing when solving a puzzle in an escape room. Staying focused is extremely important. Moving too quickly and being over-eager are signs of anxiety and can result in making mistakes. Thus, stay calm and composed. Often, confusion and stress can be avoided by remaining calm and thinking clearly throughout the escape room experience.
  • Do not spend too much time on one approach- Spend time on different approaches to the puzzle in order to explore different ways of solving it. You may find that multiple approaches work toward solving the puzzle, but the strategy that works best for you may not be the same as the strategy your teammates use.

As you can see, winning in an escape room requires you to develop escape game skills. However, you will also need to rely on your teammates’ help in order to solve the puzzles. This will require you to communicate your intentions clearly and listen to your teammates’ feedback. This will help you to win in an escape room.
