Most restaurants worth their salt are doing this.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wait; I haven&#8217;t revealed the clinching factor yet.<\/p>\n\t<p>Wait; I haven&#8217;t revealed the clinching factor yet.<\/p>\n<p>Where La Petite Maison went above and beyond was in thinking up how to offer their customers more value.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant included its trademark table d\u00e9cor &#8211; a bottle of olive oil, lemon, and a freshly-baked baguette &#8211; in a specially hand-printed bag with every order.<\/p>\n<p>And, a playlist on Spotify (called &#8216;LPM &#8211; La Vie en Rose&#8217;, if you&#8217;re interested) was made available.<\/p>\n<p>These were done to simulate the &#8216;full La Petite Maison exp\u00e9rience&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s a pretty popular and successful strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Now, what was the point of discussing this?<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tMaking people believe that they are in a different situation&#8230;\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>Believe it or not, that experiment of the restaurant is a rudimentary example of virtual reality.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/enterthemission.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/is-it-really-virtual-reality.jpg\" alt=\"is it really virtual reality\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"is it really virtual reality\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\tis it really virtual reality\n\t<p>Think about it.<\/p>\n<p>The table decor added by the restaurant offers visual, olfactory and gustatory (sense of taste) triggers to people, to simulate the experience of actually being at the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>That boosts the value of the product (the restaurant&#8217;s food delivery).<\/p>\n<p>Does this give you an idea of the massive business potential VR holds?<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tNot limited to &#8216;living the dream&#8217;\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>This example shows the potential in one paradigm &#8211; enabling people to live their dream.<\/p>\n<p>Once you start including other paradigms &#8211; like using sensory inputs to simulate an event that would be dangerous in the real world (like a plane crash; more on this in a while.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tVR business ideas\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>The point that I&#8217;m trying to drive home is that as of 2020, VR has two characteristics that make it an excellent industry in which to start a business.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s poised to experience explosive growth (as we&#8217;ll see in a second).<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;ll create a massive ecosystem of its own, where there are business opportunities galore.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\n\t\tThe business potential of VR\n\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/enterthemission.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/global-spending-on-vr-set-to-rise.jpg\" alt=\"global spending on vr set to rise\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"global spending on vr set to rise\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\tglobal spending on vr set to rise\n\t<p>A report by the International Data Corporation forecasts global spending on VR (and AR, Augmented Reality) to grow at a <strong>CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 77%<\/strong> from 2019 to 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In absolute terms, the VR market is estimated to reach <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2020\/05\/15\/2034035\/0\/en\/Virtual-Reality-Market-to-Reach-USD-120-5-Billion-by-2026-Rising-Usage-in-Healthcare-Education-Sectors-to-Aid-Growth-Fortune-Business-Insights.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$120 billion by 2026<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tBusiness ideas in the Virtual Reality ecosystem\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>The VR ecosystem spans multiple sectors &#8211; rel=\"noopener\">VR dating services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With covid-19 and the requirement for physical distancing, VR may well become the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/solrogers\/2019\/09\/20\/virtual-reality-is-the-future-of-dating\/#219678b252d1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">future of finding
